This includes achieving sales targets, implementing marketing strategies, managing distributor and account objectives, maintaining CRM data, and representing Sun Gro products in the marketplace. The role requires travel to customer sites and distributor locations.Compensation: Base Salary Range $70,000 - $90,000 along with sales bonus structure and company vehicle. Benefits:Health Insurance (includes telemedicine, virtual health, FSA, HCSA & other benefits)Dental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsuranceHealth Spending AccountEmployee Support and Mental WellnessShort-term disability401k MatchPaid vacationFloating daysEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Engagement EventsAwards and RecognitionTuition ReimbursementService AwardsEmployee Perks & DiscountsJob Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and control the total selling effort within the assigned territoryAchieve area sales objectives and plans as assignedEnsure distribution objectives are attained consistently for professional and retail product linesEstablish territory, distributor, and account objectives and develop plans for their achievementDeliver combined product sales of professional and retail peat moss and mixes according to approved sales and marketing plansImplement and control approved sales/marketing programs and proceduresAchieve new account and distribution objectivesMonitor the market, competitors, and potential customers to adjust sales strategies accordinglyMaintain CRM data by accurately recording all sales activities and account notesCommunicate with supervisors regarding territory activities and business factorsParticipate in regional meetings to plan and analyze business activitiesAddress customer requests, problems, or special situations related to product performanceHandle company materials and equipment responsibly to maintain a positive impressionControl territory expense budgets and submit timely sales and expense reportsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and monitor activitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze decisions and implement solutions in line with organizational goalsStrong knowledge of market conditions, trends, and competitor activityAbility to manage multiple distributors with professionalism, honesty, and diplomacyEducation and Experience:Education in horticulture or equivalent experience preferredPassion for horticulture with experience in lawn/garden retail or plant nurseriesHorticulture/Ag Certification is a plus (State/County courses or continuing education)Greenhouse/Nursery production experience is a plusExperience with Independent Garden Centers or horticulture departments in hardware storesHorticulture and Cannabis Industry sales experience is a plus.Professional Sales training or education is a plus.Additional Requirements:Ability and willingness to travel to cover territory needs and team activitiesWork Environment:Remote position with ~60% travel - can sit anywhere in the territory below - Territory covers Orange, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern County.
