Distribution Designer
Distribution Designer - Fort Worth, Georgetown, Midland, and Spring Branch, TX
Company Summary: An established mid-sized engineering consulting firm is currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated Distribution Designer to help expand their distribution team! The role will be based in either their Fort Worth, Georgetown, Midland, or Spring Branch, TX office location. You'll be involved in working directly on 4kV to 35kV projects from design to construction, with room for upward mobility and growth. The Distribution Designer will be responsible for:
• Meeting with property owners and other stakeholders, representing both M&S and the client professionally.
• Designing overhead and underground electric distribution facilities, stay updated with new technologies, and use design software for cost estimation.
• Mentor and train staff to share design knowledge.
• Apply NESC standards, handle permit processes, and ensure safety in design and construction.
• Conduct field surveys, work outdoors in various conditions, and travel as needed.
The Distribution Designer should have the following qualifications:
• Experience with the design of electric distribution systems, and knowledge of their operations and maintenance
• Associate's degree or certificate in Electric Power Technology preferred
• Prefer skills in interpreting property boundaries, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, construction staking, ROW staking, and collecting geospatial points.
• Prefer ability to research and collect property deed information to evaluate easements, establish ownership, and define property boundaries.
