• Devoteam is seeking a visionary and hands-on technical leader to spearhead the establishment and expansion of our Data Visualization Practice. This pivotal role requires a dynamic individual who can seamlessly transition between strategic business development and deep technical architecture, embodying the "Player-Coach" ethos. You will be instrumental in shaping our go-to-market strategy, driving commercial success, and simultaneously defining the engineering excellence that underpins our client solutions.
• As the Practice Lead, your primary responsibility will be to define, build, and scale a best-in-class Data Visualization Practice. This involves developing a clear roadmap, defining our core service offerings, and executing a robust sales strategy. You will be a key player in identifying market opportunities, articulating our value proposition, and securing new business by partnering closely with our PreSales and Sales teams. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting technical pre-sales engagements, architecting innovative and scalable data visualization solutions, and meticulously scoping proposals (Statements of Work - SOWs) that accurately reflect client needs and project deliverables.
• Beyond commercial leadership, you will also serve as the Chief Architect for the Data Visualization unit. This dual mandate means you will define and enforce the highest engineering standards for the team, ensuring that every solution we deliver is not only visually compelling but also technically sound, performant, and maintainable. A significant aspect of this role involves leading the transition towards a "code-first" Business Intelligence (BI) approach. This includes championing the adoption of modern development practices such as Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL) and Git-based version control for managing BI artifacts. You will establish and oversee CI/CD pipelines, treating BI development with the same rigor as traditional software engineering.
• Your technical leadership will extend to ensuring our solutions integrate flawlessly with any modern data platform. You will architect semantic models capable of consuming data from a wide array of sources, including but not limited to Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, and Snowflake. A key challenge and opportunity will be to develop and enforce a strategic approach to data connectivity, leveraging Import, DirectQuery, and Composite Models to optimize performance, especially when working with non-native sources like Databricks and Snowflake.
• A cornerstone of your technical governance will be the enforcement of strict Dimensional Modeling (Kimball) standards. You will guide the team in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data models that form the bedrock of effective BI solutions. This includes acting as the lead technical reviewer for complex DAX calculations, intricate data models, and code merges, ensuring that our deliverables meet "pixel-perfect" accuracy and optimal performance benchmarks.
• Furthermore, you will champion the adoption of AI-augmented development tools, such as Copilot within Microsoft Fabric Power BI. Your role will involve leading the integration of these tools to accelerate DAX generation, enhance documentation, and meticulously track the resulting efficiency gains. This forward-thinking approach will position Devoteam at the forefront of BI innovation.
• Visual governance is another critical area. You will enforce the "Mockup-First" methodology, ensuring that no development commences without a thoroughly reviewed and signed-off prototype from our UX/UI team. This collaborative approach guarantees that the final visual output aligns perfectly with user needs and design principles.
• You will also be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team of BI Architects and Analysts. Fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and collaborative problem-solving will be paramount. Your leadership will inspire the team to push boundaries, innovate, and consistently deliver exceptional value to our clients.
