This role serves as a • *key voice of the customer, translating underwriting expertise and member insights into practical workflows, data‑driven enhancements, and new product opportunities.** This role also partners closely with Sales, Product, Development, and Marketing teams to ensure solutions align with real‑world underwriting and operational needs across the insurance lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep underwriting expertise, strong executive presence, and a passion for innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a strong attention to detail. • *Key Responsibilities** • *Member & Market Engagement** • Serve as an underwriting subject matter expert supporting sales efforts, client meetings, and member engagements, including demonstrations and solution positioning. • Customize and support sales and marketing materials, training, and thought‑leadership activities. • Represent MIB at industry events, webinars, and member forums. • Act as a trusted advisor to senor underwriting, operations, and/or innovation leaders at client organizations. • Communicate complex underwriting and data concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. • *Product & Innovation Enablement** • Partner with Product Management and development teams to inform product enhancements, workflow efficiency, and innovation priorities. • Provide underwriting expertise to support data interpretation, rule development, and evaluation of new data sources, suppliers, and partnerships. • Contribute underwriting insights to roadmap planning and go-to-market strategies. • Ensure new and enhanced offerings align with industry practices and member needs. • *Client Adoption & Enablement** • Develop and deliver training for members and internal teams to drive effective product adoption. • Support member onboarding, workflow integration, and ongoing optimization. • Act as a senior resource for complex underwriting, rules, and data interpretation questions. • Partner with internal teams to support successful client outcomes and long-term adoption. • Identify common adoption challenges and recommend scalable solutions. • *Insights & Market Intelligence** • Analyze member and industry data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and new use cases. • Collect and synthesize member feedback to inform product strategy and enhancements. • Contribute competitive and market intelligence to support strategic planning. • Monitor emerging underwriting trends, data usage, and technology advancements. • *Industry & Relationship Management** • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across underwriting, operations, claims, actuarial, and technology functions. • Represent MIB as a trusted underwriting and innovation leader with members and industry partners. • *Qualifications** • Bachelor’s degree required. • 10+ years of underwriting experience in life and/or disability insurance. • Deep understanding of underwriting workflows, insurance operations, data usage, and rule engines. • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with experience engaging senior internal and external stakeholders. • Experience supporting product innovation, member engagement, or client‑facing initiatives preferred. • Industry designations (e.g., CLU, ChFC, FALU, FLMI) a plus. • Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with data-driven or technology-enabled insurance solutions. • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority in a cross-functional environment. • Comfort operating in a fast-evolving, innovative-focused organization. • Participate and effectively contributes in a team environment, in accordance with MIB’s Core Values - • *Think Like a Client; Act Like an Owner; & Make a Difference!** • *Additional Information** • Travel required for member meetings and industry events. • Responsible for safeguarding confidential information and complying with MIB security standards. • Role scope may evolve based on business needs.
