We also have a physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.About your roleWe're seeking an experienced product design leader to develop and scale our design organization, and oversee the design of our product. Youâll inherit a high-performing team of six talented product designers, and will empower them to develop industry-leading user experiences and AI-first innovation, while growing professionally as individuals and as a team. Youâll report to our Chief Product Officer, and work closely with our product management function as well as our engineering, sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams to foster design excellence across the organization.This role would benefit from in-person collaboration in San Francisco, where many of our product management, design, and engineering personnel are based, although we also welcome exceptional candidates from elsewhere in the United States and Canada.What youâll doLead and scale a high-performance product design team, while strengthening our culture of excellence and innovationLead our growing adoption of AI-first design tools, and pioneer new ways to transform the development process through AI-enabled rapid prototyping, in partnership with our product management and engineering teamsIdentify and drive step-change improvements in product experience that differentiate us in the marketLead efforts to develop innovative design patterns for our customer-facing AI productsUphold our high bar for talent as you grow the team and build specialist design functions over timePromote professional and career development for design team membersChampion user-centered design across the organization, and drive company-wide design vision and strategyPartner with our engineering team to strengthen design systems and front-end capabilitiesCollaborate with our marketing, sales, customer experience, and fund administration teams to deepen understanding of our customersâ needs, and coordinate brand and product design strategiesQualifications12+ years of product design experience, with 6+ years managing and scaling product design teamsProven track record as a director-level design leader in rapidly growing enterprise/B2B software companies with top-notch design standards (financial or investment technology experience is a plus)Interest and curiosity to explore new ways of working with AI-first design tools to transform the software design and development processExperience scaling design teams (5-20+ people) while maintaining a high bar for quality and cultureHigh personal standards for visual, interaction, content, and other aspects of design quality, and strong ability to build empathy with usersAbility to nurture a healthy design culture, both within the design team and across the companyExperience building and maintaining design systems in complex product environmentsTrack record of transforming product experiences to create measurable business impactStrong portfolio demonstrating evolution from IC designer to influential design leader, showing exceptional design craftExperience transitioning teams from startup to scale-up practicesCompensationCompensation for this position includes a base salary, bonus, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $250,000 - 300,000 USD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
