JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Director of Commercial Technologies
Department: Sales
Reports To: Senior Vice President of Sales
Status: Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Director of Commercial Technologies is a key leadership role responsible for optimizing the commercial proposal process, enhancing domain expertise, and ensuring Newterra's technologies remain at the forefront of our industry. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales, the Director will lead a team of Domain Managers, serve as a liaison between various departments, and contribute to Newterra's growth through strategic technical insight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Technical Expertise: Leverage your extensive knowledge of water treatment technologies to continue Newterra’s growth into the Industrial, Municipal, Decentralized, Remediation, and Food & Beverage markets.
2. Commercial Proposal Process: Own and fine-tune the commercial proposal process. This includes creating and maintaining the commercial proposal templates, ensuring accuracy, and optimizing efficiency.
3. Team Leadership: Manage, develop, and enable the Domain Managers to become market-facing technical experts. Empower the team to liaise effectively between sales, marketing, and engineering.
4. Contract Management: Oversee contract management activities to position Newterra for limited risk exposure and long-lasting customer relationships.
5. Develop and enable Domain Managers to become technical and commercial experts in Newterra technologies, including Membrane Bioreactor, Reverse Osmosis, Aeration, Granular Activated Carbon, UF/MF, and Ozonation.
6. Market Engagement: Travel to customer sites with sales teams, attend industry conferences, and contribute to the creation of case studies, white papers, product and market development. This will involve presenting Newterra's technical capabilities and thought leadership.
7. M&A Due Diligence: Participate in M&A due diligence activities to ensure that any potential acquisitions align with Newterra's strategic objectives.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety to others in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures. This includes reporting all safety concerns, near-misses, and incidents.
· Adhere to the company processes as detailed in Newterra’s online systems and programs and bring forward ideas for continuous improvement.
· Responsible for completing all assigned training applicable to the position in the appropriate timeframe.
· Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., mechanical, chemical, or related field).
· MBA is a plus.
· Substantial commercial experience in the water and wastewater industry.
· In-depth knowledge of Newterra technologies, including Membrane Bioreactor, Reverse Osmosis, Aeration, Granular Activated Carbon Filtration, IX, UF/MF, and Ozonation.
· Proven leadership experience and a track record of enabling teams to excel.
· Critical strategic thinking capabilities to drive innovation and market growth.
· Ability to travel as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May be required to sit for prolonged periods or required to frequently stand, walk, and use business equipment daily such as a computer, copier, telephone, etc.; occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 15 lbs. Complex thinking and analysis required with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Generally, works in an office environment. Company safety standards must always be followed.
