Program and Role Summary Wayfinder’s Child Development Services provides early intervention in person to children from birth to age 6 with visual impairment or multiple disabilities. Young children maximize any vision they have and reduce developmental delays. Parents learn to provide their child with therapeutic stimulation and advocate for their child’s education and care. Child development reduces the need for special education and increases independence for children with disabilities. The primary focus on the Director of Early Childhood Development is to provide leadership and oversight of Child Development Services (CDS) department operations. This role will be key in growing the program through outreach and business development activities, supporting and managing the team of direct reports, ensuring budgetary goals are achieved, and demonstrating all quality checks are in place from a quality and compliance standpoint. The majority of this role involves administration and leadership with additional direct service responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities: • Ensures effective onboarding and ongoing coaching and mentorship of CDS team through both 1 on 1 calls using standardized agenda, live observation, and in-person visits. • Conducts outreach to referral sources including, but not limited to, regional centers and DCFS. • Oversee the referral management process ensuring timely responses to all referrals and inquiries, appropriate tracking of start dates and communication to service coordinators, assigning each case to a child development specialist, and communication between program assistant, specialist and regional center service coordinators. • Ensure effective management of the billing process by co-signing all notes in the electronic health record system in a timely manner, clearing all violations daily, and matching total billable hours in electronic health record system to CDS billing tracker. • Ensures that all program staff complete quality regional center documentation (intake, progress, and transition reports) by deadlines and manages compliance audits as needed. • Represents Wayfinder at and actively participates in all regional center meetings in order to create positive, collaborative relationships. • Conducts quality assurance calls with parents on a quarterly basis in order to ensure quality of services and ensure quarterly data is collected as required by regional centers. • Other duties as outlined in the position description.
