Job Description:
Position Summary
The Digital Delivery Specialist (DDS) is focused on the Building Information Modeling (BIM) portion of the Digital Delivery team and support for the design and project delivery process. The DDS will work at the direction of the Digital Delivery Director and will support the BIM workflows and digital design
methods and technologies. They also promote advancement of BIM methods and the implementation of digital design standards.
The DDS is part of the Digital Delivery team that will identify and resolve issues through close interaction with project BIM team members and collaborate on project management with the multiple design teams involved with model integration. They oversee the implementation of systems and tools and serve as subject matter experts providing knowledge and advice related to specific technological products or issues.
Typical Responsibilities
β’ Coordinate with other DDS and BIM Coordinators to support the implementation of BIM technology.
β’ Coordinate and monitor the effective implementation of BIM on projects across all offices.
β’ Manage the implementation of supporting software applications for BIM and project delivery.
β’ Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and best practices impacting digital design to enhance productivity and efficiency.
β’ Provide feedback to the Digital Delivery team on project-based activities.
β’ Act as a resource and team member in all phases of the project.
β’ Manage content platforms (libraries)
β’ Liaise with Digital Delivery specialists across the organization and third-party technology vendors.
β’ Maintain and develop BIM-related content for design practice.
β’ Document Digital Delivery processes, procedures, and workflows.
β’ Coordinate with the IT group regarding any software and network support needed as it relates to BIM and project delivery.
β’ Develop and administer BIM-related training programs.
β’ Create help guides and other tech-related materials.
β’ Review performance and progress on a regular basis and recommend improvements where applicable.
β’ Ensures projects document processes, procedures and workflows for lessons learned information.
β’ Research Interoperability Management between BIM and design / engineering tools
β’ Proactive approach and learning of new technology software.
β’ Drives Standards, processes & procedures.
β’ Surveils project needs of integrating BIM and Information Technology
β’ Ensures template project BIM execution plans adequately address project needs.
β’ Understands BIM Industry Coordination / Collaboration practices.
β’ Understands Clash-Detection, Communication, and resolution practices.
β’ Provide Clash-detection session under the supervision of the PDDL.
β’ Understands the issues with Multiple Design Models Coordination
β’ Understands the BIM facility lifecycle.
β’ Assists with leading BIM Coordination Meetings
β’ Liaisons with BIM project staff in deploying project-template and surveilling projects applicability.
