Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and manage digital preservation strategies and workflows in adherence to industry standards. • Process, describe, and catalog digital assets using established metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, MODS, EAD) to enhance discoverability. • Perform rigorous quality control checks on digital files and metadata to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with institutional policies. • Manage and maintain digital asset management (DAM) systems and archival platforms, ensuring optimal performance and user access. • Plan and execute data migration projects to ensure the long-term accessibility and integrity of digital archives across evolving technologies. • Advise on copyright, intellectual property, and data privacy issues related to digital content, ensuring legal and ethical compliance. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate controlled access to digital collections while adhering to security and access policies. Required Skills • Demonstrable experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems and content management platforms. • Proficiency in archival description standards and metadata schemas (e.g., Dublin Core, MODS, EAD, PREMIS). • Strong understanding of digital preservation principles, strategies for various file formats, and best practices. • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a remote environment. • Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement. • Familiarity with data storage solutions, cloud-based archival platforms, and data security protocols. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, Information Science, or a closely related field. • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automated archival tasks and data manipulation. • Knowledge of current legal and ethical considerations in digital archiving, including GDPR and intellectual property rights. • Certification in Digital Archiving Specialist (DAS) or similar professional credentials.
