Digital Analytics Consultant (GA4, BigQuery & ContentSquare) – eCommerce Journey Analysis

I am looking to engage an experienced Digital Analytics Consultant to support ongoing e-commerce analysis work for a large UK retail brand. The role involves analysing customer journeys across web and app using GA4, BigQuery and Contentsquare, and translating complex behavioural data into clear, commercially-relevant insights for Product, UX and Merchandising stakeholders. This is not a pure reporting role. The successful candidate must be comfortable telling a data-led story, forming hypotheses, and producing professionally crafted PowerPoint decks suitable for senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities - Analyse end-to-end e-commerce journeys (PDP → Basket → Checkout) using GA4 (event-level) and BigQuery - Write and optimise SQL queries to support funnel, cohort, pathing and behavioural analysis - Use Contentsquare to interpret user behaviour (heatmaps, zone analysis, session replays, hesitation metrics) - Identify UX, merchandising and conversion optimisation opportunities backed by data - Synthesize insights into clear, concise PowerPoint decks with strong narrative flow - Collaborate asynchronously with Product, UX and Merch teams via insight readouts - Support ad-hoc deep dives, test analysis and performance investigations Required Experience (Must-Have) - Proven experience with GA4 (event schema, parameters, custom events) - Strong BigQuery SQL skills (nested data, GA4 export structure, optimisation) - Hands-on experience with Contentsquare (zone metrics, journey analysis) - E-commerce analytics experience (retail strongly preferred) - Experience producing client-ready PowerPoint decks - Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations Engagement Details - Freelance / contract role via Upwork - Ongoing support (part-time as long as each analysis is completed within 1-2 weeks) - $500-$750 per analysis depending on complexity - UK / Europe time zone preferred (or overlap with UK working hours) How to Apply Please include: - A brief summary of your GA4 + BigQuery experience - Your experience using Contentsquare (examples encouraged) - An example of an insight deck or analysis narrative you’ve delivered (sanitised is fine) - Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a video call to walk through a sample analytics scenario.
