DevOps Engineer

Job Title : DevOps Engineer Employment type: Full time, Permanent. Remote, with approx. 1 day in office per month Salary: Up to £55K We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our cloud infrastructure team. Reporting to the Head of Cloud Infrastructure, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation, support and maintenance of our infrastructure and systems across development, testing and production environments, hosted on GCP and co-location data centres. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced DevOps professional to contribute to the evolution of our products and services, working within a collaborative team that values technical excellence, continuous improvement and a proactive approach to cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Design, plan and implement infrastructure change as part of a DevOps team, contributing to the evolution of our products and services Maintain secure and robust cloud-based networks and infrastructure using IaC methods (Terraform), with strong knowledge of networking principles including routing, DNS, load balancing and security controls Manage containerised workloads using Kubernetes (GKE), ensuring high availability, scalability and efficient resource utilisation Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test and deployment workflows across environments Implement and manage systems monitoring, proactively respond to alerts, and participate in on-call out-of-hours support on a rotational basis Participate in capacity planning, performance monitoring, disaster recovery testing and regular security audits Skills Knowledge & Expertise Several years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) core services Good working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Experience with Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu) administration Strong understanding of cloud security principles including IAM, RBAC, secrets management and network security controls Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus/Grafana or Google Cloud Monitoring Good working knowledge of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and PowerShell/Linux scripting.
