DevOps Engineer
General Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to collaborate with the DevOps/Infrastructure team of one of our long-standing clients. Your main responsibility will be leading the transition from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes. This “greenfield” opportunity allows you to shape the architecture and influence strategic decisions with your ideas and expertise, not just your code. The client is one of the leading investment/asset management companies in the US.
You will be working with Space Inch teammates as well as client team members on this project. Space Inch team members partner with our client’s team to comprise a large portion of five different combined teams.
If you're ready to drive impactful changes and lead a major cloud transformation, we’d love to hear from you!
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
At Space Inch, we prioritize alignment with our clients and team, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs. We are committed to delivering exceptional work while supporting the personal and professional growth of our team members. Every team member has access to an executive coach as part of this commitment.
About Working at Space Inch
Our team is primarily based in Croatia (~50 people), with members in South America, Serbia, and the US.
Occasional travel may be required, including annual company retreats in Croatia.
Space Inch projects are not staff augmentation projects, rather Space Inch teams integrate deeply with customer teams, sharing leadership and strategic responsibilities.
We strongly support work/life balance for our team members.

GitHub CI/CD, container registries, upstream/downstream systems
Kubernetes – multiple environments, regions

Docker, Docker Swarm
ServiceNow automation (Okta, Azure, etc.) is a plus
Other Requirements:
Full-time availability (40 hours/week)

Shape technical architecture through active participation in strategic discussions
Ensure smooth mapping of Docker Swarm containers to Kubernetes
Build strong relationships with other engineering teams to show value
Qualities for Success:
