About the position

Pratham USA is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising strategy and execution for the NY Tri-State Chapter. This role focuses on growing revenue, strengthening donor engagement, and supporting chapter-based fundraising initiatives. The Development Manager works closely with regional leadership, board members, and national teams to set priorities, track performance, and drive results. This is a highly collaborative role that also requires initiative, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Responsibilities
β€’ Lead planning and execution of chapter fundraising efforts, including the NYC Gala, salons, and campaigns
β€’ Set and deliver against revenue targets and annual fundraising goals
β€’ Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level donors ($5,000–$15,000)
β€’ Strengthen donor relationships and increase retention, engagement, and giving levels
β€’ Partner with chapter leadership and board members to strengthen fundraising effectiveness
β€’ Support engagement, planning, and ongoing development of board-led initiatives
β€’ Develop and expand corporate partnerships beyond sponsorships
β€’ Build relationships through employee engagement, volunteer initiatives, and strategic partnerships
β€’ Track and analyze fundraising performance across events, campaigns, and donor segments
β€’ Use insights to inform strategy, improve outcomes, and guide decision-making
β€’ Collaborate with development, marketing, and events teams to align fundraising efforts
β€’ Lead and support special campaigns and chapter initiatives

Requirements
β€’ Bachelor’s degree required
β€’ 3–5+ years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience
β€’ Demonstrated experience managing donor relationships and fundraising initiatives
β€’ Strong project management and organizational skills
β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
β€’ Ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders
β€’ Ability to work effectively with volunteers and board members
β€’ Knowledge of fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and event-based fundraising
β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
β€’ Self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
β€’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-haves
β€’ Experience working with or supporting volunteer boards or committees preferred
