Development Coordinator

Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to children’s literacy. We are seeking a Development Coordinator to support our fundraising efforts and help drive meaningful donor engagement. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for donor inquiries via phone, email, and mail Provide timely, professional, and donor-focused responses Manage donor communications, including monthly donors and honor/tribute gifts Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on donor-related activities Maintain accurate documentation of donor interactions and resolutions Execute donor acknowledgments and stewardship activities Prepare personalized communications for VIP donors and special cases Manage donor mailings, premiums, and engagement touchpoints Ensure donor records are accurate and up to date Conduct prospect research to identify and support new donor opportunities Maintain data accuracy and integrity within development systems Support reporting and tracking to inform team decisions Identify and troubleshoot data inconsistencies Improve workflows and processes for efficiency Skills Passion for nonprofit work, fundraising, or youth and education Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Self-starter who thrives both independently and collaboratively Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); willingness to learn new systems Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
