Development Associate Communications and Engagement
Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Development Associate, Communications and Engagement to support their Development Communications and Donor Engagement team. The role involves managing acknowledgment processes for donors, providing administrative support, and assisting with creative assets and event logistics.ResponsibilitiesManage the fulfillment of all leadership giving, corporate, and family foundation acknowledgment letters, generating drafts from approved templates, managing the review & formal documentation process, and ensuring letters are produced and sent in a timely mannerAssist with all administrative duties in support of communications and engagement team: including building mail merges, processing invoices, ordering supplies and donor gifts, assisting with the team budget, assisting with projects, and supporting meeting managementManage the teamβs creative assets and related documentation, helping to organize and maintain photo, video and design assets, patient consents, and moreProvide light graphic design support, formatting proposals and stewardship reports from approved templatesProvide writing and proofreading support as neededSupport, plan, and staff photo and video shoots and provide logistical support for cultivation eventsPerforms other duties as neededSkillsBachelor's degree and 1-3 years of relevant professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceHighly organized, process- and detail-orientedOutstanding written and verbal communications skills; strong interpersonal skillsAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a member of a teamMicrosoft Office Suite expertise required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint)Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, advertising or related field preferredExperience in nonprofitsWorking knowledge of other tools including Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Thankview, Raiser's Edge NXT, Asana or similar project management software desiredFamiliarity with AP StyleBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionPharmacyDiscretionary annual bonusesMerit increasesFlexible Spending Accounts403(b) savings matchesPaid time offCareer advancement opportunitiesResources to support employee and family well-beingCompany OverviewBoston Medical Center (BMC) is a 511-bed, equity-led academic medical center and a proud member of the Boston Medical Center Health System.
