The Designer for Bridges and Civil Structures will inspect and report on bridge safety, support field inspections, and collaborate with teams to enhance infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities Inspect bridges and heavy civil structures to ensure safety and reliability for the traveling public Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports using digital tools and field notes that inform critical infrastructure decisions Support planning and execution of field inspections, maintaining equipment and safety standards Apply engineering principles to assist with repair designs, load ratings, and construction oversight Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that enhance mobility and sustainability Skills Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from a CEAB-accredited university Comfortable working in the field, including climbing, carrying equipment, and working in varied weather conditions Familiarity with engineering software such as SAP2000, CSi Bridge, MIDAS, or S-Frame Strong technical foundation with a passion for applying knowledge to real-world challenges Eligibility or application in progress for Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) designation Benefits Flexible work, real balance Health and Safety is a core paramount value of WSP.
