Position Description:
Bridgenext is seeking an experienced Databricks Engineer to design and deliver scalable, governed data platforms supporting analytics and AI use cases in regulated enterprise environments.This role is hands-on and delivery‑focused, working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, and analytics teams to build trusted, high‑quality data products. Candidates must have strong production experience with Databricks and a proven track record delivering data solutions in banking, insurance, wealth management, or other regulated domains. Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity CatalogDevelop ingestion frameworks for structured and semi‑structured data from multiple enterprise sourcesCreate reusable, curated data products aligned to enterprise data modelsImplement data governance, data quality, and security controls across the data lifecycleOptimize data pipelines and models for downstream Power BI consumptionPartner with data owners, analysts, and business stakeholders in agile delivery ceremoniesEnable analytics and AI workloads using trusted, well‑curated data assetsEnsure compliant handling of sensitive financial and health data Workplace: This is a remote role requiring full-time Eastern timezone working hours and quarterly travel to the Toronto office. We are able to hire in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, or British Columbia. Must Have Skills: 5+ years of data engineering experience in enterprise environments3+ years hands-on with Databricks in production workloadsStrong expertise in PySpark / Spark SQLDeep experience with Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Databricks performance tuningStrong understanding of data governance frameworks and quality controlsExperience delivering solutions in regulated industries (banking, insurance, wealth/asset management preferred) Preferred Skills: Experience integrating Databricks with Power BIExposure to AI / ML workloads supported by DatabricksPrior work in financial services, insurance, or healthcare data environments Professional Skills:Strong communication skills with ability to engage business and stakeholders Strong team and individual playerMaintains composure during all types of situations and is collaborative by natureHigh standards of professionalism, consistently producing high quality resultsSelf-sufficient, independent requiring very little supervision or interventionDemonstrate flexibility and openness to bring creative solutions to address issues Bridgenext is an Equal Opportunity Employer Canadian citizens and those authorized to work in Canada are encouraged to apply Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Bridgenext provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time employment, for roles that may be hired as described above.
