Database & Data Platform Administration Support
Scope of Work
The selected contractor will be expected to provide services that include, but are not limited to, the following:
Data Warehouse and Database Administration
ā¢ Design, build, and administer a centralized data warehouse environment in Google Cloud Platform
ā¢ Manage database performance, structure, permissions, reliability, and overall data integrity across core systems
ā¢ Support backup, recovery, and general database operational stability
ā¢ Define and maintain schemas, naming conventions, metadata structures, and data organization standards
Systems Integration and Data Flow Management
ā¢ Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between source systems and the central warehouse using APIs, connectors, and MCP-based integration methods where appropriate
ā¢ Connect and manage data flows from key institutional and platform systems, including the LMS, HubSpot, and the custom AI platform being developed in GCP
ā¢ Monitor pipelines and integrations for failures, inconsistencies, or reliability issues and resolve issues affecting data quality, availability, and continuity
LMS and Platform Data Administration
ā¢ Support LMS-related data administration needs, including platform connectivity, user and course data structures, and reporting dependencies
ā¢ Coordinate data systems in a way that supports broader RGI platform architecture and downstream analytics or application use
Security, Governance, and Documentation
ā¢ Implement and maintain appropriate database and platform security practices, including role-based access controls, permission management, credential hygiene, and related administrative safeguards
ā¢ Document data flows, structures, integration logic, administrative procedures, and other technical materials required for maintainability and continuity
ā¢ Contribute to the development of a scalable and maintainable data environment that can support both current operations and future growth
Desired Qualifications
Proposers should demonstrate experience and capability in the following areas:
Required Qualifications
ā¢ Experience in database administration, data platform administration, or a closely related technical role
ā¢ Strong SQL and relational database experience, preferably PostgreSQL
ā¢ Experience designing, building, or administering cloud-based data warehouse environments
ā¢ Experience working in Google Cloud Platform or a comparable cloud environment
ā¢ Experience building and maintaining API-based integrations across multiple systems
ā¢ Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, data governance, and data quality management
ā¢ Experience managing permissions, access controls, and related core security responsibilities within a data environment
ā¢ Strong troubleshooting ability and comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment
ā¢ Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
ā¢ Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
ā¢ Experience working with LMS platforms and related data structures
ā¢ Experience with HubSpot data architecture and HubSpot APIs
ā¢ Experience with GCP services relevant to this engagement, such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Workflows, or related tools
ā¢ Familiarity with data environments that support AI or agentic application workflows
ā¢ Experience supporting an early-stage or rapidly evolving platform buildout within a university, institute, or similarly mission-driven organization
Pay: $50.00 - $90.00 per hour
