Data Warehouse Architect (Hands-On, SQL Server, SSAS, Data Modeling)
We are looking for a hands-on Data Warehouse Architect to lead the design and implementation of our enterprise data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining an enterprise data model, developing logical and physical schemas, creating comprehensive architecture and design documentation, and implementing tabular data models using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Define and maintain the enterprise data model, aligning it with business objectives and data strategy.
ā¢ Design and implement data warehouse schemas (star, snowflake) in Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
ā¢ Create and maintain architectural documentation, including data flow diagrams, data dictionary, schema designs, and design patterns.
ā¢ Develop tabular models in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) to support advanced analytics and reporting.
ā¢ Collaborate with stakeholders, BI developers, data engineers, and business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into data architecture designs.
ā¢ Ensure consistency and data integrity across source systems, staging layers, data marts, and reporting layers.
ā¢ Lead and participate in data modeling, metadata management, and data quality initiatives.
ā¢ Drive data architecture best practices, governance, and standards across the organization.
ā¢ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data and analytics team.
Qualifications:
ā¢ 8+ years of experience in data warehousing, BI architecture, or enterprise data modeling.
ā¢ Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server for data warehouse design and schema development.
ā¢ Experience with cloud data warehousing (e.g., Azure Synapse, Fabric, Snowflake).
ā¢ Strong proficiency with SSAS Tabular Models, DAX, and MDX.
ā¢ Expertise in creating enterprise data models, dimensional modeling (Kimball/Inmon), and schema design.
ā¢ Skilled in developing and maintaining architecture and design documentation.
ā¢ Strong SQL and performance tuning skills.
ā¢ Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
Preferred:
ā¢ Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and data security practices.
ā¢ Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools integrated with SSAS tabular models.
ā¢ Experience with entity relationship diagramming tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Erwin)
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $85.00 per hour
