The Data Steward will support data governance and management practices, ensuring data accuracy and documentation while collaborating with technical and business teams.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update metadata in the business glossary and data catalogWork with business stakeholders to document clear and consistent data definitionsSupport the organization in improving accessibility and understanding of key data assetsAssist in documenting data lineage by reviewing SQL, dashboards, and data flowsInvestigate how data moves across systems and support the validation of lineage diagramsWork with Data Engineering and business teams to highlight and track data quality concernsAssist in monitoring and reporting on data quality metricsHelp maintain data classification tags within the catalogSupport the implementation of data access rules and assist teams in understanding access processesAssist in communicating and reinforcing data governance standards and proceduresHelp ensure alignment with privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements by applying established policiesPartner with data owners, data custodians, and technical teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of metadata and data quality findingsHelp promote a culture of responsible and informed data use across the organizationSupport the use of data governance tools such as business glossaries, catalogs, and lineage systemsEnter and maintain metadata, glossary terms, lineage diagrams, and quality rulesAssist in preparing training materials and knowledge-sharing resourcesHelp drive data literacy by supporting workshops, documentation, and onboarding effortsSkills1β3 years of experience in data management, analytics, or data governanceHands-on experience working with data using SQLDegree or diploma in information management, business, data science, computer science, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of SQL for data profiling and analysisAbility to interpret data models, dashboards, and query logicStrong attention to detail and analytical thinkingAbility to document information clearly and accuratelyStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teamsCuriosity and a passion for improving data literacy and reliabilityExposure to data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, MS Purview, Informatica, Alation) is an assetExperience documenting data definitions or supporting data quality initiatives is an assetExperience in the Financial Services industry is beneficial but not requiredFamiliarity with databases and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle) is an assetBasic understanding of data modelling conceptsAbility to read and interpret ETL logicFamiliarity with or interest in data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM)Understanding of the importance of data privacy, quality, and complianceBenefitsHealth insurance coverageWellness programsLife and disability insuranceRetirement savings plansPaid leave programsEducation-related programsPaid holidays and vacation timeTraining ReimbursementPaid Professional DesignationsEmployee Savings Plan (ESP)Corporate Discount ProgramEnhanced group benefitsParental Leave Topβup programPaid time off for VolunteeringCompany OverviewCorient offers wealth management and consulting services.
