Data Science Summer Intern - Global Data Office - Foster City

Visa’s Data Science Internship offers hands-on analytics experience, impactful projects, and professional development in a global payments leader. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Prepare and manage datasets using Python, SQL, Spark, or Hive, including efficient data wrangling and ad-hoc requests. • Conduct business data analyses to uncover key insights and communicate findings to stakeholders. • Design and develop BI tools using Power BI and Tableau. • Monitor and enhance BI tools by identifying insights, creating demos, and enabling teams to maximize tool value.• Recommend improvements to tools and techniques to optimize processes or support new initiatives with long-term value. • Collaborate with the Data Team, including data scientists, analysts, statisticians, and business analysts, to develop and refine data models and solutions. About YouThe company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: • Strong communication skills with clear, concise, and professional written and spoken communication. • Experience with statistical software such as Python, SAS, R, Stata, or others preferred.• Experience with visualization and reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar. • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to continually learn. • Experience extracting and aggregating data from large datasets using SQL or other tools. • Understanding of machine learning techniques. • Competence in Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau. Compensation & Benefits • Estimated hourly range: $40/hr to $45/hr, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). • Salary may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and location.• Hybrid work position with office days confirmed by hiring manager. • Travel requirement: 5-10% of the time.
