Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Advisor to join our team. As a Data Protection Advisor, you will be responsible for executing data protection support work and compliance efforts required by clients. You will work closely with our clients to provide tailored data protection improvement and project management, ensuring that they meet their data protection requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Providing outsourced DPO and DPO Assist services to clients, including tasks such as:
Developing consent and privacy notices
Managing SARs (Subject Access Requests)
Guiding clients through personal data breaches
Fulfilling data protection compliance requirements, including:
Data protection impact assessments
Compliance audits
Gap analyses
Data mapping services to aid in addressing risk management issues and complying with data protection requirements
Independent project management of client workloads, ensuring project deliverables are of a high quality and on time
Writing briefs for clients on relevant topic areas, including newsletter pieces and other outreach material
Attending and presenting at client meetings
Business development tasks, including developing proposals and bids for new projects
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Relevant postgraduate qualification: LLM or other relevant postgraduate qualification and/or CIPP/E or other data protection or information security compliance certifications
Professional experience: 3+ years' professional experience in a data protection specific role
Working knowledge of data protection legislation: Thorough working knowledge of UK and/or EU data protection legislation
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse legislative requirements and translate these into organisational practices and solutions
Project management skills: Project management skills, with a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion
Stakeholder management skills: Stakeholder management skills and experience
Excellent writing and communication skills: Excellent writing and communication skills
Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Business development experience: Experience of business development and proposal/tender writing
Client management and customer service skills: Strong client management and customer service skills
Cybersecurity knowledge: A working knowledge of cybersecurity
Experience with other privacy frameworks: Experience of other privacy frameworks outside of GDPR
Knowledge of national data protection legislation: Knowledge of national data protection legislation for the US or other EU countries
Experience of writing newsletters and outreach materials: Experience of writing newsletters and outreach materials
Experience of working in large/complex organisations: Experience of working in large/complex organisations
Experience of working in a consulting environment or capacity: Experience of working in a consulting environment or capacity
