Job Title: Data Platform Engineer II (IBMi and DB2) Location: 100% REMOTE Start Date Is: ASAP Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire Compensation Range: $65-75/hr on W2 ONLY (no c2c or sponsorships) Job Description: Support and enhance DB2 for i platforms by managing database operations, optimizing performance, and collaborating with development teams to ensure reliable deployments. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Review and optimize complex SQL queries on DB2 for i • Support shared services: ticket handling, data changes, and query reviews • Triage production issues using iDoctor, database tracers, visual explain, etc. • Participate in overnight on-call rotation for database deployments • Join and contribute to daily operational meetings • Recommend tools and platform improvements • Document procedures and mentor junior engineers Requirements: • Must-Haves: • 5 years of hands-on DBA experience with DB2 for i (DB2/400) • Deep knowledge of IBM i server and Db2 for i platform • Proficient in complex SQL development and database optimization • Understanding of OLTP/OLAP concepts • Experience with tools like Client, plan cache, and iDoctor • Nice-to-Haves: • Background as an RPG programmer • Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies • Familiarity with build management and CI tools Remote About the Company: Mondo Apply tot his job
