Data Engineer III - Python, AWS, PostgreSQL

We are seeking a Data Engineer / Software Engineer III with experience in Python, AWS cloud based solutions, and SQL to join our team. We are looking for someone who also has a strong background in data pipelines, data modeling, and complex data aggregation. The right candidate will have hands-on experience with the Django framework and experience with PostgreSQL databases. Responsibilities • Design and implement data pipelines using AWS cloud based solutions, Python, and PostgreSQL • Design, maintain, and implement Python-based solutions using Django. • Utilize Django's ORM to efficiently interact with and manage database structures. • Perform query optimization and rewrite complex SQL queries • Analyze and optimize database query performance. • Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. • Implement security best practices to protect applications against vulnerabilities. • Perform code reviews and help foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related degree. • 5+ years of experience in software development. • Experience maintaining, designing, and implementing Python-based solutions. • Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL. • Experience with AWS cloud-based solutions (e.g. EKS, RDS, EC2, SQS, Lambda). • Proficiency in utilizing Django’s ORM to efficiently manage database structures. • Experience analyzing and optimizing complex SQL queries. • Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. • Experience performing code reviews and mentoring junior developers. Preferred Qualifications • Basic knowledge of health care supply chain. • Basic knowledge of healthcare data rules and standards (such as HIPPA). • Experience with CI/CD • Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing UI using Vue.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
