Data Engineer

West Monroe is a global business and technology consulting firm seeking a talented Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering & Analytics team. In this role, you will collaborate with clients on complex data projects and be involved in strategic enterprise data initiatives and large-scale implementations.ResponsibilitiesSupport projects leveraging an agile delivery model through requirements gathering and documentation, data ingestion pipeline development, and technical testingContribute to project delivery in the following ways:Add configurations for data enrichments such as lookups, type conversions, calculations, and concatenationsAdd data quality rulesConnect to new data sourcesMap multiple sources into a single outputInterpret error messages to troubleshoot data pipelinesCreate outputs that facilitate reporting, dashboarding, and semantic modeling for tools such as Tableau and Power BITest data pipelines to ensure accuracyWork closely with our clients as part of the development team to gather technical requirements and develop solutionsCoordinate activities with data source application owners to understand the underlying data, ensure integration and data integrityBuild relationships with clients through written and verbal communicationSkills1 - 4 years of hands-on professional development experienceExperience writing complex SQL queries related to data manipulation strategiesExperience with Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop, and/or LambdaExposure using ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Informatica, Talend, IBM DataStage, etc.), and/or database platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Oracle)Exposure to data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)Experience in technical testing, issue identification and resolutionStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to travel 30 to 50% to client sitesHybrid role - 2 days a week in officeBenefitsEmployees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan.Employees can purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program.Employees are eligible to receive annual bonuses.Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off.Employees will receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year.Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.Company OverviewWest Monroe offers digital transformation, analytics, cloud, cyber security, business advisory, and management consulting services.
