In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, developing robust data models to support Power BI and SSRS reporting, ensuring high data quality through proactive monitoring and validation. You will work closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. Duties:Design and implement data models that support self-service Power BI reporting and dashboards, ensuring efficient and accurate data representation. Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data platform. Load and integrate data from internal and external data sources (e.g., databases, APIs, flat files). Collaborate with BI developers and analysts to understand reporting needs and ensure data models meet business requirements. Monitor data pipelines for performance, reliability, and data quality issues using automated tools and alerts. Conduct data validation and testing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data. Document data architecture, processes, and data flows to support ongoing maintenance and scalability. Troubleshoot data issues and work with source system owners to resolve inconsistencies or gaps. Implement data governance best practices, including data cataloging, lineage, and security controls. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in a data engineering, BI, or related role. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server). Experience building data models in Power BI (e.g., star schema, DAX optimization). Proficiency with ETL tools and scripting (e.g., Python, SQL-based ETL, Azure Data Factory, dbt). Experience with data warehouse/lake solutions (e.g., Azure Synapse). Knowledge of data quality, validation, and monitoring practices. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD for data pipelinesPreferred:Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Understanding of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Knowledge of data governance and metadata management tools (e.g., Purview, Alation).
