They are seeking a Data Center Technician to maintain and grow the physical infrastructure of their cloud, supporting engineers with on-site deployments and troubleshooting hardware and network issues.ResponsibilitiesSupporting data center engineers with on-site physical deploymentsRacking, stacking, and cabling servers, power distribution units, and switches under the guidance of data center engineersReplacement of server components such as CPU, RAM, drives and boardsSubmitting RMA to equipment manufacturers, shipping and receiving gear to and from remote locations and vendorsWork through assigned tickets and work requests effectively, performs basic diagnosis and repairs to hardware in line with internal SLAsAssists data center engineers in debugging network, hardware, and Linux OS-related issuesAssists with asset management, tracks and monitors data center hardware and component inventorySkillsHands-on experience with servers, hardware, and networkingPassionate about data center hardware and infrastructureInterest in networking, hardware, and Linux OSExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative nature and a friendly can-do attitudeA strong desire and aptitude for solving problemsA valid driver's license (must be comfortable with driving)Willing to receive guidance from senior engineers and techniciansAbility to logically analyze and solve problemsAbility to travel domestically and internationally (10% - 15% travel)Willingness to participate in an on-call rotationAbility to be on your feet all-dayAbility to lift objects up to 50 lbsAbility to be on-call outside of business hours for escalations as neededCan perform a basic level of troubleshootingBenefitsReimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and educationAccess to LinkedIn Learning's 10,000+ coursesEmployee Assistance ProgramLocal Employee MeetupsFlexible time off policyBonus in addition to base salaryEquity compensation to eligible employeesEquity grants upon hireOption to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase ProgramCompany OverviewDigitalOcean provides a cloud platform to deploy, manage, and scale applications of any size.
