Data Architect
Position: Data Architect (B2B / Freelancer Contract) Location: Remote open to candidates based in Romania or Serbia Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Data Architect to design, develop, and manage modern data architectures that enable secure, efficient, and scalable data management. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with deep technical expertise to design compliant and high-performance data solutions that deliver measurable value to the organization. Key Responsibilities Design and evolve the organizations overall data architecture , ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust and actionable data solutions. Develop and maintain reference architectures that optimize ingestion, storage, processing, analytics, and visualization. Define and enforce best practices for data modelling, integration, and lifecycle management. Drive data governance and quality initiatives , ensuring data security, consistency, and availability. Act as a trusted partner and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders on all data-related matters. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a senior data engineering role. Strong expertise in data modelling , data warehousing , and ETL/ELT pipelines . Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake , AWS , and/or Azure . Solid understanding of data lakes , big data ecosystems , and data product design . Advanced knowledge of database structures , data mining , and data analysis techniques . Familiarity with data governance frameworks , compliance , and security best practices . Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across technical and business teams. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in insurance or other data-intensive industries. Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Ability to influence architectural direction and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
