Overview:
This is a hands-on Data Specialist role combining data engineering, data analysis, and some data modeling/architecture. The position will initially be a one-person setup, with potential to expand into a team as the project grows.
Core Responsibilities
ā¢ Build and manage data pipelines
ā¢ Extract and integrate data from external systems
ā¢ Work with large datasets (1TB+, millions of rows)
ā¢ Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures (currently taking 30 45 mins)
ā¢ Implement medallion architecture (raw, staging, serving layers)
ā¢ Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI
ā¢ Analyze data and independently propose solutions
Mandatory Technical Requirements:
ā¢ Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (pipeline creation, external integrations)
ā¢ Strong PostgreSQL experience (SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
ā¢ Advanced Power BI (complex filters, dynamic dashboards)
ā¢ Experience handling large-scale datasets and ETL processes
Nice-to-Have Skills:
ā¢ Data modeling and architecture design
ā¢ Experience integrating multiple data sources
ā¢ Ability to generate insights from data
ā¢ Exposure to columnar databases or tools like Databricks (future scope)
ā¢ Industry experience (finance, retail, etc.)
