Data Analyst - Temporary

The Temporary Data Analyst supports the data and evaluation related functions of the agency. The Temporary Data Analyst is involved in many different aspects of performance improvement and program evaluation, including creating interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations, manipulating and deriving insights from datasets, producing summary reports for stakeholders, and engaging with agency leaders and staff to promote and facilitate the effective use of data to improve services. The Data Analyst assists with the management and completion of projects and consults with program staff and management. About Todo Por Mi Familia Todo Por Mi Familia is a federally funded nationwide program created by Seneca in March 2020. TPMF has worked tirelessly to locate and support families that were separated at the border, connecting them with free mental health services they need. TPMF offers the following services to eligible families: (1) pre-reunification counseling to still-separated families awaiting reunification; (2) parenting and psychosocial supports to reunified families in the United States; (3) referrals to behavioral health treatment to still separated children and reunified families in the United States; and (4) related case management services. So far, we have reunited over 1,300 families, connecting them with more than 500 mental health providers across 39 states. Responsibilities • Document user requirements and develop interactive data reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and Excel (35%). • Manipulate and extract meaning from complex datasets, including development and implementation of automated Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) functions in Power BI as well as use of Excel spreadsheets and Pivot Tables (35%). • Translate programmatic and clinical workflows (including social work, mental health, and case management) into well‑defined data requirements, actionable reports, and meaningful insights that support service delivery and evaluation. • Serve as a key liaison between non-technical direct service staff and technical/data teams, ensuring data systems, reporting, and analytics effectively support program operations, outcomes measurement, and informed decision making. • Advise and consult with program leaders and staff on matters related to: • Program evaluation • Data collection and reporting • Performance improvement efforts (15%) • Participate in intra- and inter-departmental meetings and represent Data team on relevant agency committees and workgroups (15%). • Engage in individual and collaborative work to advance team values related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Manage and coordinate complex, time-sensitive projects with many different stakeholders. Qualifications Required • Education/experience requirements: • Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience translating program and clinical workflows (such as social work, mental health, or case management) into clear data needs, reports, and actionable insights OR • Associate degree + 2 year of applicable experience OR • High school diploma + 3 years of applicable experience. • Applicable experience includes work experience in data/business analytics, manipulation, and visualization. • Knowledge of and skill in: • Analyzing and deriving insights from datasets using tools such as Excel (Pivot Tables), Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, and/or other BI/visualization/statistical packages. • Applying basic statistical concepts and data visualization best practices in presenting data to different audiences. • Modeling/structuring data for reporting purposes and/or navigating data warehouse or relational database structures. • Planning and managing complex projects, communicating across multiple stakeholders, and meeting deadlines. • Commitment to working to advance team values related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. • At least 21 years of age. • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements. Preferred Skills/experience • Experience designing and conducting surveys and deriving insights from survey response data. • Experience and/or education in one or more of the following: • Data and business analytics. • Performance improvement/continuous quality improvement methods. • Data visualization. • Program evaluation. • Public health, data science, information science, math, mental health, social work, or other field(s) related to Seneca’s work.
