Data Analyst, Strategic and Commercial Analytics

They are seeking a Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across Wärtsilä’s Energy business in the Americas, focusing on commercial analytics, financial modeling, and market analysis. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities and develop data-driven solutions Analyze large volumes of engine performance data to demonstrate the value proposition of Wärtsilä’s lifecycle solutions within regional markets Support quantification of Wärtsilä’s new build equipment and lifecycle agreements for business development, project development, marketing, and sales using new and existing modeling methods Develop, maintain, and document financial models and other analytical tools to evaluate new build and lifecycle sales opportunities Skills Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (engineering, data science, economics, finance, or related discipline) Experience with analytical tools such as Python and Excel, including packages or add-ins for analyzing large datasets and building predictive models Proficiency in AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot Proactive self-starter with strong communication skills and willingness to learn other aspects of Wärtsilä's business Knowledge of electricity markets Fluency in English Master's degree in engineering, data science, computer science, or similar Customer-oriented mindset Knowledge of SQL, Databricks, and Git Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Qlik Experience translating technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders Benefits Shift differentials Standby/on-call Overtime Premiums Extra shift incentives Bonus opportunities Medical, dental and vision coverage 401(k) plan Flexible spending accounts Life insurance Short- and long-term disability Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year.
