Introduction

A Cybersecurity Manager/Specialist protects an organization's digital assets, networks, and data by developing security policies, managing risk, and overseeing incident response. They lead teams of security analysts, implement security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and manage budgets for security tools. This high-level position plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's information and technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and policies to protect the organization's digital assets.
• Lead a team of security analysts and specialists in monitoring and responding to security incidents.
• Manage and maintain security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001:2005 to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and weaknesses.
• Oversee the procurement and implementation of security tools and technologies to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Manage the cybersecurity budget, including allocating funds for security initiatives and projects.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between cybersecurity initiatives and business goals.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the organization's cybersecurity status and risk exposure.
• Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
Requirements
Required Skills
• Strong management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of security professionals.
• Experience in budget management and allocation for cybersecurity initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and NIST.
• Proficiency in incident management and response to security incidents.
Preferred Skills
• Certifications in cybersecurity such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
• Experience in implementing and maintaining security frameworks and standards.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to cybersecurity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
