Cybersecurity Intern
JOB OVERVIEW:We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our global Cybersecurity team. This role provides hands-on exposure to key areas of enterprise cybersecurity within a large, complex organization.The intern will contribute to both individual and team-based projects focused on strengthening the organization’s security posture. In addition, the role offers exposure to data-driven and AI-enabled security operations, where automation and analytics play a critical role in threat detection and response.As possible, a reasonable balance will be made between the intern's learning goals and the specific assignments.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with leadership to coordinate efforts and resolve issues.Works with the department prioritizing work assignments and act as a liaison with other departments.Performs a variety of tasks/projects that address the needs of the department.Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.Assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and events across enterprise systemsSupport vulnerability management and risk assessment activitiesParticipate in incident response investigations and documentationContribute to cybersecurity projects aimed at improving detection, response, and automation capabilitiesAnalyze security and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, or potential threatsCollaborate with global cybersecurity team members on cross-functional initiativesResearch emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologiesDocument findings, processes, and recommendations for both technical and business audiencesLearning OpportunitiesExposure to core cybersecurity domains such as Security Operations (SOC), threat detection, incident response, and risk managementHands-on experience with automated security tools and platforms, including those leveraging data analytics and AI/ML techniquesInsight into how large organizations use data-driven approaches to detect and respond to cyber threats at scaleOpportunity to work in a global environment with diverse teams and technologiesMentorship from experienced cybersecurity professionalsQualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldFoundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., networks, threats, vulnerabilities)Basic knowledge of data analysis, scripting, or programming (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plusStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyAbility to plan, organize, and manage multiple activities simultaneouslyStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced settingAbility to handle confidential and highly sensitive information with discretionPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated interest in cybersecurity, data science, or artificial intelligence, through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activitiesAcademic background or coursework in areas such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or related fieldsExposure (academic or self-driven) to topics like data analysis, automation, or machine learning conceptsStudents pursuing or complementing their major with minors or concentrations in Data Science, AI, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or StatisticsCuriosity about how data and automation are used to enhance cybersecurity detection and response in modern enterprise environmentsWillingness to learn and explore emerging technologies and their application in cybersecurityWhat You’ll GainPractical experience in enterprise cybersecurity operationsExposure to modern, automated security environments leveraging data and AIOpportunities to contribute to meaningful projects with real business impactProfessional development and networking within a global organizationA strong foundation for future careers in cybersecurityWORK EXPERIENCE: No experience required.PREFERRED EDUCATION: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldConsideration for students in complementary disciplines such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or EngineeringStudents with relevant minors, concentrations, or coursework in cybersecurity, data analytics, or AI are encouraged to applyTRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Travel typically less than 10%.
