Cybersecurity Analyst - Engineering (Information Technology Analyst 2)
New Jersey Courts is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to work in the Information Security Unit, focusing on the design, installation, deployment, and support of enterprise-wide security solutions. The role involves monitoring security tools, implementing procedures, and maintaining security hardware/software to protect judiciary information.ResponsibilitiesMonitor information security tools for vulnerabilities, potential security incidents, and system error conditions and follow up or remediate issuesPerform security reviews related to user ids, authorized access and controlsResearch vulnerabilities and develop alternate strategies for safeguarding judiciary informationImplement information security procedures related to new applications and initiativesConduct quantitative and qualitative research related to security processes, programs and projectsPrepare technical proposals based on changes in infrastructure, newly identified vulnerabilities, improvements in monitoring tools and changing best practicesInstall, configure and maintain security hardware and/or softwareDevelop and update information security tasks related to disaster recovery supportSkillsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurityOne year of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software OR business analysis which may include defining and gathering business and functional requirements, analyzing and validating data and/or documenting test plans OR business analytics OR data analyticsCompTIA Security Plus Certification is requiredEmployees hired by the Information Security Unit on or after 8/23/22, including current Judiciary employees from other units or locations, who do not already have the CompTIA Security Plus Certification will have one (1) year from their date of employment with Information Security to obtain the CompTIA Security Plus Certification in order to maintain employment in the Information Security UnitSubstitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour creditsA bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required educationAn associate degree from an accredited college or university, in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required educationAn associate degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required educationA master's degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required educationIndividuals who have successfully completed internships within the Central Office Information Technology Office;
