Customs Trade Specialist

They are seeking a Customs Trade Specialist responsible for coordinating documentation for US Customs and ensuring compliance with international regulations.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importersProvide impeccable customer serviceMay process commodities that have been identified and isolated as requiring specialized processing to reduce the risk of liquidated ages and penalties through classification and the applications of proper duty preferenceObtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOP's, tariff book, internet or customsData entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and may handle all PGA's (participating Government Agencies)Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record keeping requirementsAdhere to all international importing and exporting regulationsWork closely with other internal staff, departments, other fedex opcos, customers and government agencies to deliver high level of service to customersProcess agency brokerage shipmentsMay handle remote filingsPerforms entry reconciliations as neededEnsure all government and organizational policies are followedFollow up on Customs matters and resolve problemsPerforms entry reviews as neededPerforms other duties as assignedSkillsHS Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 6 months work experience requiredData entry/keyboard experience requiredWorking knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook using multiple screens and windowsExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenOrganizational SkillsInter-personal skillsProblem solving SkillsHandle high volume of workHandle time sensitive workAbility to work independently with minimum supervisionAbility to use multiple systems and reference materialInteract with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management of all levels, internal departmentsMinimum of 12 months of industry experience preferredKnowledge of customs regs, harmonized tariff schedules preferredBenefitsHealth, vision, and dental insuranceRetirementTuition reimbursementCompany OverviewFedEx Logistics plays a key role within the FedEx portfolio with its comprehensive suite of integrated logistics solutions.
