Position
An international trade law practice seeks an attorney to support customs and import-related matters. The role involves advising on U.S. customs law and working on compliance, regulatory, and agency matters. The position offers hands-on involvement in active matters and the opportunity to manage work with increasing independence.
Responsibilities
⢠Analyze customs issues, including tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin
⢠Work on customs compliance reviews, post-entry audits, and CBP inquiries
⢠Conduct legal and factual research related to customs and trade regulations
⢠Draft memoranda, correspondence, and submissions to government agencies
⢠Coordinate filings and manage regulatory and litigation deadlines
⢠Work collaboratively with attorneys and other professionals on client matters
Qualifications
⢠J.D. from an accredited law school
⢠2ā7 years of experience in customs, international trade, or related regulatory work
⢠Admission to a U.S. state bar (DC preferred)
⢠Strong research, writing, and organizational skills
⢠Ability to manage multiple matters independently
