He/She classifies according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS), participates in government agencies clearances (PGA), Code of Regulations, and Customs regulations.nnResponsibilities:nnPrepares customs entries and forwards freight to designated locations including interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.nnPrepares customs entries and follows-up with the clearance process on all entries prepared.nnCommunicates documentation discrepancies to client and supervisor.nnCoordinates freight delivery to designated locations.nnResolves finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues.nnScans entries into the imaging system meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.nnPrepares reports/presentations and analysis using various software packages and databases.nnFollows up on documentation discrepancy issues which requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins.nnEstablishes and maintains client relationships.nnRequires a weekend work schedule on a department rotation basis and holiday schedule based on the needs of the operation and account requirements.nnQualifications:nnHigh school diploma, GED, or International equivalentnnMinimum of 2 years' experience working for a Customs BrokernnBasic knowledge of customs operations, laws and regulations, and other government departmentsnnProficiency in Microsoft OfficennCustomers Broker License - PreferrednnAccurate and rapid data entrynnExcellent verbal and written communications skillsnnGrade 07nnEmployee Type:nnPermanentnnUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.nnCompany: UNITED PARCEL SERVICEnnCategory: Brokerage (Intl Trd Svcs)nnRequisition Number: R24039610nnLocation: Springfield Gardens,New York
