Customer service and Patient collections Associate

The Customer Service and Patient Collections Associate responds to patient inquiries and resolves billing issues while ensuring accurate and timely communication with both government and non-government payers. Responsibilities Respond to a high volume of patient and guarantor inquiries related to billing issues through phone, mail, and electronic communication Research and resolve account issues using internal systems and external sources including insurance providers Collect outstanding balances and update demographic and insurance information during patient interactions Verify insurance eligibility using available tools, payer websites, or direct communication with third party payers Identify and escalate recurring billing trends and assist in developing solutions Process and assign referrals received through various communication channels Review reports related to primary care provider and self pay exceptions and resolve discrepancies Maintain accurate and complete documentation while ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA policies Skills High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of one year of relevant experience At least one year of relevant experience in customer service, billing, or healthcare administration preferred Benefits Flexible schedules Affordable health, vision and dental insurance Child care and student loan subsidies Generous levels of time off 403(b) Retirement Savings plan Pension Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement Cell phone plan discounts Discounted rates on T passes Company Overview Boston Children's Hospital is a 404-bed comprehensive center for pediatric health care.
