Curriculum Developer - Special Education

Our client, a forward-thinking educational institution in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US , is seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer specializing in Special Education. This critical role involves designing, developing, and implementing innovative and effective curricula tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong pedagogical background, a deep understanding of special education principles and best practices, and a passion for creating inclusive learning environments. Responsibilities include researching and evaluating educational materials, developing lesson plans, instructional strategies, and assessment tools aligned with state and federal standards, and collaborating with special education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure curriculum relevance and effectiveness. You will also be responsible for training educators on new curriculum implementation and providing ongoing support. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for focused work on curriculum design and research remotely, while also requiring on-site presence for collaborative meetings, teacher training sessions, and classroom observations. Our client values creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to student success. A master's degree in Special Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field is required, along with significant experience in curriculum design and delivery within special education settings. Expertise in differentiated instruction, universal design for learning (UDL), and assistive technology is highly desirable.
