Curriculum Developer for High School Drone / CTE Supplemental Curriculum Modules

Remote Full-time
Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced curriculum developer to help us build supplemental high school CTE curriculum modules related to drones and workforce-ready skills.

We create drone education curriculum for high schools. We already offer longer, semester-length courses, but we are now developing shorter pathway-specific supplemental modules that can plug into existing CTE programs more easily.

These modules are meant to serve as an easier entry point for schools that may not have the schedule, staffing, or logistical support for a full 18-week drone course.

We are specifically creating supplemental drone curriculum for CTE pathways such as:

• Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources

• Arts, Media, and Entertainment

• Engineering

• Construction / Building Trades

Each module will connect drone technology to real-world use cases within that pathway and will include engaging student-facing and teacher-facing materials.

What We Need Help With

We will handle the video strategy, video creation, and scriptwriting.

We are looking for a curriculum developer to help build out the rest of the instructional package around those lessons.

This may include:

• Student-facing written lesson content

• Teacher implementation guides

• Lesson plans and pacing support

• Hands-on activities and classroom assignments

• Discussion questions and reflection prompts

• Auto-graded assessments / quizzes

• Kahoot-style review game content

• Worksheets, guided notes, or other classroom support materials

• Suggestions for formative and summative assessments

• Organizing content in a clear, teacher-friendly format

Important: AI-Assisted, But Not Generic

We would prefer someone who is comfortable leveraging AI well.

However, we do not want generic, copy/paste AI curriculum.

We want someone who can use AI as a tool for:

• research support

• brainstorming

• outlining

• drafting

• accelerating production

But then apply real instructional judgment to turn that into curriculum that is:

• original

• coherent

• accurate

• classroom-ready

• age-appropriate for high school students

• aligned with real teacher needs

• written in a natural, non-robotic voice

The final output should feel like it was created by a thoughtful curriculum professional, not dumped out by ChatGPT.

Ideal Candidate

We would love to work with someone who has experience in one or more of the following:

• High school curriculum development

• CTE curriculum development

• STEM or technology education

• Instructional design

• Teacher-facing resource creation

• Project-based learning

• Creating assessments and classroom activities

• Turning subject matter into engaging student lessons

Bonus if you have experience with any of the following:

• Drone education

• Career and technical education pathways

• Education standards alignment

• LMS-friendly curriculum structure

• Developing materials for teachers with varying levels of subject knowledge

What Success Looks Like

A strong candidate will help us create modules that are:

• easy for teachers to implement

• engaging for students

• practically useful in the classroom

• clearly connected to career pathways

• polished and professional

• structured in a repeatable way so we can scale additional modules over time

Project Structure

We are likely looking for someone who can start with one module or a small paid test project first, and then potentially continue into a larger ongoing engagement if it is a good fit.

We are looking for someone who can collaborate well, take direction, work efficiently, and help us build a repeatable curriculum development process.

When Applying, Please Include

Please answer the following in your proposal:

1. Tell us about your experience developing curriculum for high school, CTE, or STEM education.

2. What types of curriculum materials have you created before?

3. How do you use AI tools in your workflow without ending up with generic or low-quality output?

4. Share 1–3 examples of curriculum, lesson plans, teacher guides, or related instructional materials you’ve created.
