Curriculum Developer - ACT/SAT (Fully Remote)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and student-focused SAT/ACT Curriculum Developer & Tutor to help design and deliver a structured college test preparation program for our students. This role combines curriculum development and direct tutoring support, ensuring students receive personalized instruction based on their diagnostic profiles, academic goals, and target scores.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in either SAT or ACT preparation, with the ability to contribute to a broader test prep curriculum framework while maintaining subject-specific distinctions between the two exams.
All students come through Nova Learning and our partner college consulting firm, so no marketing or sourcing is required on your end.
• Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Development
• Help build and organize structured SAT and ACT prep curriculum frameworks.
• Determine what topics to teach, in what sequence, and which resources to use based on student diagnostics and score goals.
• Develop personalized learning pathways, lesson plans, and instructional strategies.
• Create or improve practice materials, mock exams, and targeted review exercises.
• Collaborate with the academic team to continuously improve the overall prep program.
• SAT-Focused Responsibilities
• Teach SAT Math, Reading, and Writing concepts effectively.
• Guide students through College Board test-taking strategies, pacing, and time management.
• Utilize SAT diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps and optimize study plans.
• ACT-Focused Responsibilities
• Teach ACT English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing concepts effectively.
• Help students improve pacing, accuracy, analytical thinking, and section-specific strategies.
• Utilize ACT diagnostic assessments to tailor lesson delivery and performance improvement plans.
• Tutoring & Student Support
• Conduct virtual one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions.
• Track student progress and maintain accurate performance records.
• Provide regular feedback to students and families regarding progress and improvement areas.
• Adjust lesson plans and instructional methods based on student performance data.
• Stay updated on SAT and ACT exam trends, updates, and best practices.
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience with established SAT/ACT prep companies such as The Princeton Review, Kaplan, PrepScholar, or Magoosh.
• Proven experience tutoring SAT and/or ACT preparation programs.
• Strong understanding of SAT and ACT exam structures, scoring systems, and testing strategies.
• Experience building curriculum frameworks or structured prep programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to personalize instruction based on student diagnostics and performance data.
• Comfortable using online teaching platforms and digital learning tools.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Preferred Skills
• Experience designing or scaling SAT and/or ACT prep programs.
• Demonstrated success improving student SAT or ACT scores.
• Familiarity with College Board and ACT prep resources and diagnostics.
• Strong virtual classroom engagement and mentoring skills.
• Experience working with college-bound students and competitive admissions preparation.
