We’re looking for a Technical Co-Founder to take on the CTO role, someone eager to build technology with purpose, create lasting impact, and help us disrupt one of London’s largest and fastest-growing industries valued at over £20 billion. This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage startup with strong foundations, a clear vision, and expansion plans across the UK, Europe, and the US.
This position will suit someone who has already built a stable professional or financial foundation and is now looking to dedicate part of their time toward building something of their own. It’s ideal for someone ready to take a leadership role in a growing startup while maintaining flexibility in their current career.
What You’ll Be Doing
Take full ownership of the design, development, and deployment of Shyft Clean’s web and mobile platformsBuild a scalable tech architecture that connects customers, cleaners, and operations in real timeLead the creation of smart tools for automated scheduling, cleaner performance tracking, and operational analyticsOversee backend, frontend, and API development with a hands-on approachManage and mentor a small technical team as the business scalesEnsure data security, privacy, and platform reliability across multiple regionsCollaborate with the founder to define the product roadmap, fundraising strategy, and investor readinessRepresent the company at tech, startup, and investor events as the technical face of the brand
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)35+ years of experience as a senior full-stack developer, ideally having built or scaled a SaaS, marketplace, or consumer appStrong command of modern frameworks such as React, Node.js, Django, or LaravelExperience in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and database managementProficiency in system architecture, automation, and product scalabilityA practical problem-solver who can translate business goals into technical executionStrong communication and collaboration skills with fluent EnglishKnowledge of another language such as German, Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic, or Russian is an advantageEntrepreneurial mindset, able to work independently and thrive in a fast-moving startupOpen to occasional travel for business or investor events
The Commitment
20 hours per week with full flexibilityRemote or hybrid for the next 12 months open to candidates based in the UK, Europe, or the USEquity-only position at this stage, with a competitive salary introduced post-investmentIdeal for someone seeking a career shift or second venture alongside an existing role
