The role of Business Developer involves developing agency relationships, executing marketing plans, and providing training on company products to achieve production and profitability objectives.ResponsibilitiesHas responsibility for developing a productive agency plant/territoryDevelops marketing plan for assigned territory, taking into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of the agency plant/territory and competitors, divisional objectives, and overall market conditionsProspects, appoints, and manages agency relationships to achieve production and profitability objectivesMay develop and execute agency action plans for achieving individual agency objectivesReviews and analyzes agents' production and results. Implements and may recommend appropriate corrective measures; including modification or cancelation of agency appointmentsActs as a liaison between company and producer in solving problemsMarkets and provides strategic training on company products and services to existing and prospective agenciesInterprets, explains, and educates agency on products (features, market placement, techniques to market/sell, etc.), practices, services, and technology solutions and/or integration needsGathers, analyzes, and maintains competitive information.
