Job Summary
The Crisis Line Advocate provides over the phone advocacy, shelter navigation, and resources and referrals to those fleeing violence through the Northeast Iowa (Region 3).

Weekdays- 5:00pm-10:00pm
Weekends- 2:00pm-10:00pm
These hours will be shared as this is a part-time position.
What You Will Do:
ā¢ Identify and pursue safe alternatives to hotel stays whenever possible.
ā¢ Provide advocacy, crisis counseling, and access to crisis services and housing programs to callers on our crisis line.
ā¢ Support the crisis services team in navigating safe shelter options and diversion strategies for survivors of violence.
ā¢ Provide victim advocacy, crisis counseling and education to survivors of violence staying at Friends House.
ā¢ Comply with data tracking and documentation requirements.
ā¢ Works remote and provides virtual support.

Job Qualification and Competencies:
ā¢ Must demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet deadlines.
ā¢ Ensure confidentiality is in place for all people FOF serves.
ā¢ High School Graduate with a minimum of two years work experience.
ā¢ Previous experience in the following preferred: victim services, crisis intervention, housing programming, and/or case management.
ā¢ Ability to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
