About the position

Evernorth is seeking an experienced healthcare attorney to join its legal team, focusing on specialty and home delivery pharmacies. The role involves providing legal advice on pharmacy relationships with payers, including health plans and pharmacy benefit managers, as well as regulatory matters related to pharmacies. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare fraud and abuse laws and experience in contract negotiation.

Responsibilities
Ā• Analyze and support arrangements between pharmacies and a wide range of payers, including drafting and negotiating contracts.
,
Ā• Analyze and support arrangements with 340B covered entities, including drafting and negotiating contracts.
,
Ā• Provide day-to-day legal counseling on regulatory, operational, and transactional matters involving pharmacies.
,
Ā• Work cross-functionally to analyze complex transactions and identify legal issues impacting the organization.
,
Ā• Support strategic initiatives and development of new programs and products.
,
Ā• Provide support to other legal team members to manage complex legal matters.

Requirements
Ā• J.D. from ABA accredited law school/Bar membership required.
,
Ā• At least 4 years of healthcare transactional or regulatory experience.
,
Ā• Experience in fraud, waste, and abuse laws, particularly the Anti-Kickback Statute.
,
Ā• Experience with pharmacy contracting, pharmacy practice, and licensure regulations is a plus.
,
Ā• Experience with the 340B Program is a plus.
,
Ā• Demonstrated ability to make prudent, strategic, and pragmatic decisions in a diverse team environment.
,
Ā• Highly collaborative and analytical with excellent written and oral communication skills.
,
Ā• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple contracts and projects with advanced time management skills.
,
Ā• Strong ability to navigate regulatory and business barriers.

Nice-to-haves
Ā• Experience with pharmacy practice and licensure regulations.

Ā• Experience supporting pharmacies, covered entities, and/or 340B third-party administrators.
