They are seeking a Cost Estimator to join their Charlotte, NC office, where the role involves supporting the cost estimating team and contributing to the development of comprehensive cost estimates for various projects.ResponsibilitiesAid with administrative tasks as needed, primarily a combination of data entry, updating of project deliverable dates and bid tracking within Smartsheets, which involves outreach and client interactionPerform quantity take-off in a manner and level of detail consistent with the project goals and support the teamInput estimate data into the appropriate softwareProvide a detailed review of all documentation and assist with development of comprehensive cost estimates/models that communicate the client’s project and strategic goalsAssure that a quality product is presented to the client through adherence to the company’s QA/QC proceduresAssist in the creation of cost estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations, at all levels of project development, as part of the internal teamCommunicate effectively through clear and concise means appropriate to the project’s goals (verbal, written, and graphics)Actively research, solicit, and develop sources/vendors for compiling and maintaining the accuracy of cost informationDesire to learn, grow, and advance their skills in estimating and various other project controlsSkillsStrong written, verbal communication and organizational skillsOne to three years of construction industry experience, preferably with commercial constructionFamiliarity with the Microsoft Office suite and Smartsheet preferredPrior working experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or other industry related take-off software is a plusBachelor's degree, in construction, engineering, or architecture preferred; or 2 years of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degreeFamiliarity with the Microsoft Office suite and SmartsheetPrior working experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or other industry related take-off softwareBachelor's degree, in construction, engineering, or architecture; or 2 years of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degreeBenefitsHybrid work scheduleCompany-sponsored Medical/Dental/Vision and Life Insurance401K Program with a Company MatchPaid Holidays / Sick Leave / Vacation AccrualCompany Team Building, Employee Events, and a fun, people first environmentCompany OverviewFounded in 1982 by Colm O’Connor, OCMI leads the way in estimating, project controls, and construction management solutions.
