We are actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Corrections Library Assistant to join our team and support the daily operations of the library at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. If you are looking for an exciting new way to apply your clerical skills, this is the perfect position for you! As a Corrections Library Assistant, you will create and maintain a clean and safe environment that promotes reading and learning for the inmates. Your duties will include assisting the librarian in the training, scheduling, hiring, and termination of inmate library personnel. You can expect to oversee inmate work crews, complete attendance and progress reports, and respond to inquiries from the inmate population and institutional staff pertaining to library resources and programs. In this position, you will assist with the circulation and inventory of library materials and deliver materials to housing units. Responsibilities • Assist the librarian in training, scheduling, hiring, and termination of inmate library personnel. • Oversee inmate work crews. • Complete attendance and progress reports. • Respond to inquiries from the inmate population and institutional staff regarding library resources and programs. • Assist with the circulation and inventory of library materials. • Deliver materials to housing units. Requirements • Two years of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA. • Must meet the PA residency requirement. • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
