Corporate Development Associate (M&A Business Development)
Valsoft Corporation is an operating group that acquires and grows vertical market software companies. The Corporate Development Associate will play a critical role in sourcing new acquisition opportunities and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the software ecosystem.ResponsibilitiesConduct detailed research on vertical market software companies, potential add-on opportunities, and adjacent marketsBuild and continuously refresh target lists using public and proprietary sourcesTrack industry developments including acquisition activity, leadership changes, and emerging market trendsExecute proactive multi-channel outreach campaigns (email, LinkedIn, calls, events) to engage founders and executivesIdentify and qualify new acquisition opportunities aligned with Aspire Software’s investment criteriaMaintain a steady pipeline of qualified acquisition targetsBuild trusted relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, advisors, and intermediaries across the software ecosystemConduct introductory conversations with potential sellers to understand their businesses and strategic goalsMaintain ongoing engagement with prospects to ensure opportunities progress through the deal pipelineMaintain accurate deal records and pipeline reporting in CRM systemsTrack outreach activity, meeting outcomes, and pipeline healthCollaborate with the Corporate Development and M&A teams to advance qualified opportunitiesAssist in early-stage evaluation of potential acquisitions including market positioning, product fit, and ownership dynamicsSupport the coordination of meetings, diligence requests, and internal reviews as opportunities progressSkills1–4 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, or B2B business developmentDemonstrated ability to generate leads, build relationships, and initiate conversations with senior stakeholdersComfortable engaging with founders and executivesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to clearly articulate Aspire Software's acquisition philosophy and value propositionAbility to understand business models and interpret financial statementsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple parallel opportunitiesExperience maintaining structured pipelines in CRM systemsComfortable using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), LinkedIn, Excel/PowerPoint, and research platformsWillingness to travel domestically or internationally (approximately 10–20%) for meetings and industry eventsExposure to software, SaaS, or technology markets is an assetFamiliarity with basic valuation drivers and acquisition dynamics is an assetBenefitsOpportunity to work within one of the most active software acquirers globallyDirect exposure to software founders, M&A processes, and deal sourcingMentorship from experienced corporate development professionalsA fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with significant growth opportunitiesCompetitive compensation and performance-based bonus structureCompany OverviewAs a leading player in vertical market software (VMS), Valsoft combines industry expertise with a unique buy-and-hold investment philosophy, managing a growing portfolio of companies that benefit from decentralized leadership and operational autonomy.
