Corporate Counsel – Exports & Expansions

Amazon’s Exports & Expansions legal team is looking for a talented attorney to support our dynamic exports and stores expansion business teams. This is a unique opportunity to support cross-border business models and work cross-functionally with retail, marketplace, operations, advertising, payments, trademark and employment teams.

Key job responsibilities:
Support strategic projects and agreements, counsel business and product development teams on a wide range of matters, and work with other members of the legal department locally and internationally to ensure that relevant legal and regulatory requirements and risks are understood and managed. You will also provide day-to-day advice to business teams, analyze and resolve issues that arise, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

You must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing. You will be expected to work independently and contribute successfully to cross-functional teams while demonstrating sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. A sense of humor and a desire to learn and be curious are essential. The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, is also essential.

Minimum Requirements:
- Outstanding academic qualification.
- Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university or law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Singapore, US and/or UK with qualification in good standing.
- 8+ years of legal experience (with several years at a leading law firm or in-house experience).
- Successful transactional background, including extensive commercial and/or retail experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as a business partner to senior management.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
- Understanding of legal issues relevant to technology, retail, and logistics businesses.
- Experience advising on regulations and working with regulators.
- Experience working in-house, preferably at a multi-national or in a retail or technology business.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at once, and follow through and meet deadlines.
