Corporate Accountant

Hootsuite is looking for a Corporate Accountant to support the controllership team with full-cycle accounting, month-end close processes, financial reporting, and audit requests. The role involves collaborating with various teams, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.ResponsibilitiesFull-cycle accounting: supporting the month-end close, preparing monthly continuity schedules and reconciling general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, as neededPreparing monthly/quarterly detailed financial statements variance analysisSupporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsPreparing the monthly international financial reporting packages and reconciling local subsidiary and corporate general ledgersSupporting the fiscal year-end audit and statutory auditCollaborate with external auditors to understand audit requests and requirements, including timelinesLiaising with sales operations, partner managers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable teams for reconciliations, accruals, payments and audit requestsSupporting in the preparation of technical accounting memos under U.S. GAAPPlaying a lead role in standardizing, streamlining, and simplifying account reconciliationsSpecial projects, as neededSkillsSome practical or relevant accounting experience within a Finance team, including experience as an auditor for public accounting firm working on public company audits (experience with PCAOB standards preferred)Bachelor's Degree in Business; or equivalent education and experienceCPA Designation, or enrolled in CPA ProgramAccountability: holds self and others accountable to meet commitmentsCollaboration and Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needsCommitment to Results: consistently achieves results, demonstrating high performance, and challenging self and others to deliver resultsOpen Communication: clearly conveys thoughts, both written and verbally, listening attentively and asking questions for clarification and understandingPriority Setting: focuses time/energy on the most important issues/opportunities.
